Mechanical circuits: electronics without electricity

Steve Mould shows Spintronics, a set of mechanical components such as resistors, capacitors and transistors linked by chains, that give an intuitive feel for how electrical circuits work.

Why Hacker News points people here: HN suggests it as a vivid, hands-on way to understand circuits, including for a blind child learning to program.

I saw the code jumper tech at a conference once, it was actually really thoughtfully done, I had no idea it cost 1k though! One other option I've seen is this Spintronics platform: link I first saw it on Steve Mould's youtube channel, they're basically mechanical circuits and it looks super cool. this video

Analogy: a model reproducing dynamics rather than the real thing.

>By studying this quantum theory on the processor, we are able to... probe the dynamics of a quantum system equivalent to a wormhole in a model of gravity. Not a real wormhole, but rather a model of a wormhole which they say has the same dynamics. A bit like this if I'm not mistaken: this video
