A Key & Peele sketch in which an inner-city substitute teacher, Mr. Garvey, keeps mangling the names of his middle-class students during attendance.
Why Hacker News points people here: HN commenters mention it as a joke in threads about names being mispronounced or causing problems.

“Have you seen the Substitute Teacher sketch by Key and Peele?”
> I've been more flexible, going by "A Aaron" I'm sorry, but if I found that name IRL I'd have a hard time not laughing. Have you seen the Substitute Teacher sketch by Key and Peele? this video
“its worth watching in its entirety if you like this kind of humor”
I agree with you 100%. For all of humanities fallibleness, every averted nuclear close call was due to having a human in the loop[0] in one way or another. For instance, in 1960 Norway's sunrise was interpreted by radar in Greenland as a nuclear attack by the Soviet Union. Thankfully there were no automated responses, and humans in the loop realized the error quite quickly once they assessed all the surrounding facts [0]: link [1]: I couldn't help but think of this skit and pronunciation when seeing O'Shaughnessy from Key & Peel (video is linked to the pronunciation but its worth watching in its entirety if you like this kind of humor) this video

Does anyone find themselves accidentally mispronouncing Jason like "JSON"? It must be as annoying as mispronouncing Aaron like "A-A-Ron". this video
