A one-minute Key & Peele sketch about planning a heist with a foolproof plan that has one small flaw.

Why Hacker News points people here: HN commenters use it only as a joke reference when a thread's scheme or fraud sounds like the sketch.

The SAT is a test of your academic preparation, not Raven's progressive matrices. That you can study for it is not inherently a bad thing. Portions that are highly susceptible to coaching are bad, and that's why there aren't analogies any more. If students learn the vocabulary and practice the math to do better on the test, at some point it just becomes the Key and Peele Heist sketch: "That's called a job!" this video

> might be easier [...] just working at a bank Reminded me of this Key & Peele sketch: this video Robber 2: So how do we get the money? Robber 1: That's the beauty of it, bro. They deposit the money into our bank accounts, week after week, month after month. They're not even gonna know they're being robbed! And then 20-30 years later, we walk out the front door like nothin' even happened.

Whenever I read these kinds of super-complicated scams, I can't help but think if the scammer would have instead invested all that time and effort into legitimate tech and interviewing skills, he/she could have just come in the front door! It's like the person who spends hundreds of hours putting together the perfect exam cheating scheme, where they could have instead put in half of that time actually studying! Or, in video form, the Kay & Peele Bank Heist[1] 1: this video

I think standardized tests correlate very highly (perhaps highest of any measure) to performance. I regularly see schools in the US with a 10% math proficiency and 40% literacy proficiency with a 99% graduation rate. What's up with that? Standardized tests are the most fair and simplest way to evaluate students. Plus gaming the test is what exactly? Hiring a tutor and spending hours studying, much of it alone? And it's not a shock that success on studying and doing well on exams correlates to college where you're evaluated on how well you study and do on exams It reminds me of that Key and Peele sketch where they're planning a long con bank heist but by the end it's obvious they're just working a job and saving for retirement this video

North Koreans are currently funding their nuclear program by…. passing interviews at US tech companies and … actually doing the work KYC is a joke when everybody’s ID can be used to make a valid account and receive payments reminds me of this bank heist skit, where they just get employed at a bank for 30 years this video

Reminds me of the Key & Peele sketch: this video > Once employed in a full-time role, fake workers are often very successful, since they sometimes have multiple people helping them to produce their work, with the hope of getting a promotion and gaining more privileged access to the IT systems. I think the "fake" part is the long term play to get enough privilege to presumably perform a cybersecurity attack. But less "fake" and more "spy" from the description - the outlined scheme is literally what spies agencies do.
