An Onion News Network parody of a 'hyper-realistic' modern warfare game whose gameplay consists of paperwork, waiting for orders and repairing trucks.

Why Hacker News points people here: HN people bring it up as a joke when a thread is about games or simulators that chase realism and end up tedious.

No doubt inspired by the amazing My Summer Car [1]. And presaged by the classic Onion videos "World of World of Warcraft" [2] and "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3" [3]. [1] link [2] link [3] this video

This looks great! Not doing anything in particular was also a lot of fun in GTA games. Also I am reminded of the Onion's modern warfare simulator video: this video

“The Onion said it best”

I never played Arma, to be fair. I always gravitated more toward the "brain-rot" games! But you're right of course, realistic games use more realistic ballistic models (and everything else). One reason I never got too into the simulator games was that the line between "real" and "game" is always going to be very arbitrary. No simulator will replicate the experience of slogging over a marshy mountain carrying 100 lbs and a GPMG! The Onion said it best: this video
