Tutorial on uBlock Origin advanced mode.

Yes, in fact ublock origin has a very advanced global/local case where you can block resources globally or block resources locally and temporarily if you really want. It's generally better to use ublock origin on it's own than to use ublock origin with umatrix or ublock with noscript. Mainly because ublock origin comes wiht neutralising anti-adblock scripts that would get blocked if you combine it with a separate script blocker. link Here is a good tutorial on how to use ublock origin in advanced mode. this video

Watch first before learning filter syntax and blocking modes.

Glad to hear it. Note that it can also re-style elements, for example restoring the old (non-bold) Youtube titles: www.youtube.com##h3.title:style(font-weight: 400 !important;) or un-float pesky navbars: ! Disable floating navbars www.nytimes.com##.live-blog-above-main-content:style(position:absolute !important) www.latimes.com##header[data-element=header]:style(position:absolute !important) apnews.com##.Page-header:style(position:absolute !important) www.wired.com##.persistent-top:style(position:absolute !important) www.vice.com##.nav-bar:style(position:absolute !important) You can even run scripts from a built-in library.[0] Eg to disable Youtube rollover previews (including traffic), you can interrupt the event handler with addEventListener-defuser: www.youtube.com##+js(aeld, /^(?:mousemove|pointermove|pointerenter|mouseenter|mouseleave)$/, buttons) The best thing is to read the wiki (which I procrastinated for way too long), especially the parts on filter syntax[1][2] and blocking modes[3]. I used uBO for years without appreciating its full power! Maybe this whets your interest. Cheers [0] link [1] link [2] link [3] (watch this first: this video ) link

Isn't it pretty much redundant? You just have to enable advanced mode in ublock origin extension settings. The interface is arguably slightly harder to figure out though, but the functionality is there once you've enabled it. the ublock origin repo actually has a video linked how it works: this video
